GCAP 2023: Empower has ended
WELCOME TO GCAP

GCAP focuses on professional development, education and providing invaluable networking experiences for delegates, connecting them to industry peers from this region and abroad. GCAP 2023 will be held in person at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Monday 2 October – Wednesday 4 October 2023.

The Focus For GCAP 2023 Is Empower.

In recent years, Australia has consistently impressed and delighted global audiences with critically acclaimed game titles and world class developers. The future for Australian game developers is bright and they will be faced with many exciting and new prospects. GCAP 2023 will empower developers to achieve their vision for themselves, their teams, their art and their technical skills through:
  • Delivering practical sessions for studios big and small looking to grow sustainably
  • Educating and exploring new tools and techniques available to create games
  • Gaining and sharing knowledge from experienced, professional speakers
  • Meeting and making meaningful connections with peers and broader industry stakeholders

GCAP 2023 will feature three days of premium content sessions and interactive workshops delivered by experienced game developers and industry professionals from Australia and abroad, with content tailored towards intermediate to advanced developers.

GCAP 2023 will provide many opportunities to network with delegates and speakers, through custom networking platforms like MeetToMatch, bespoke networking events within the schedule, plus booths where you can get hands on with development products and meet local teams.

Reaching Beyond the Indie Bubble

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Being known by our developer friends is not the same as having an audience. Developers (both who we know and who we don’t) will support our work for different reasons than those potential consumers would, and other developers will engage with our content differently. We have to address that gap in attention in order to reach the wider community and be understood by them.

The main points we will discuss are: planning for content, tags, consistency in our audience, events, and the use of multiple platforms.

During this talk, we will go over not only some pitfalls in the previously mentioned categories, but how we can overcome those obstacles. We’ll look at real-world examples and crack open the monolith of social media marketing to see how it wants to be used. Attendees will leave with actionable steps and resources to steer the ship of their social pages in their preferred direction.
